Magic Lamp Craft

This beautiful magic lamp craft is tons of fun to make. Using tissue paper for this craft gives it an awesome texture and makes it look like the lamp is truly magical! This craft is great to suit an Aladdin theme. There is also a simpler magic lamp craft that would be great for younger kids who want to craft alongside their older siblings!

Materials:

printer and paper,
markers or paint,
coloured tissue paper (I chose mostly blues and purples),
scissors,
white glue,
pencil

Instructions:

Print out the magic lamp colouring page that goes with this craft, and colour the lamp (I chose to make mine gold but you can make yours any colour you want).
Cut the colorful tissue paper into squares.
Take a square of tissue paper and wrap the middle of over the eraser end of a pencil. Put a small spot of white glue on the end of it.
Press your pencil, glue side down, onto the colouring page.
Remove the pencil, the piece of tissue paper should stick.
Continue repeating these steps and glueing pieces of tissue paper close together within the dotted lines on the picture.
Once you’ve finished filling the section with tissue paper let it dry and it’s finished!

Things I Have a Love/Hate Relationship With:

Technology: I love how it connects us and makes things easier, but why does it have to change so quickly?
Trivia Nights: I'm your go-to person for fun facts, yet somehow, I always end up in second or third place. Frustrating!
Gardening: I like to think I have a green thumb, but it has a few brown speckles. My plants and I are working on it.
Animals: I adore my pets and they bring me so much joy, but oh, the chores! Why can’t they clean up after themselves?

I earned my degree back in the early '90s, and as a lifelong learner, I continue to delve into the things I love. This includes technology (though I struggle to keep up!), art, early childhood education, history, and mythology as it relates to sociology.

I know that while the coloring pages are largely for kids, many of you visiting the site are educators and caregivers. I’ve tried to share some interesting trivia tidbits and fun facts to make your visit enjoyable too. Happy coloring!
