The Three Little Piggy Banks:
A Tale of Spending, Saving, and Giving

by Leanne Guenther in collaboration with Darren Guenther, CPA

Penny the Spender

Once upon a time, in a cozy little village, there lived three little pigs: Penny the Spender, Silver the Saver, and Goldie the Giver. They were the best of friends and always stuck together. One day, they decided it was time to learn about managing their money. Each pig had a different idea of what to do with their coins.

Penny the Spender, the first little pig, loved to spend her money on anything she could find. She bought candies, toys, and fancy clothes, always making sure she had the latest and greatest. Her friends tried to tell her to slow down, but Penny couldn't resist the excitement of spending.

Silver the SaverSilver the Saver, the second little pig, believed in saving every coin he earned. He stashed his money away in a big, sturdy piggy bank, watching his savings grow day by day. His friends admired his dedication but worried he might be missing out on life's simple pleasures.

Goldie the GiverGoldie the Giver, the third little pig, had a heart full of kindness. She believed in giving some of her coins to those in need. She would donate to the local orphanage, help her elderly neighbors, and even support animal shelters. Goldie knew that sharing her wealth made her feel happier and more fulfilled.

As the days went by, the three little pigs continued to manage their money in their own ways. But one day, a wise old owl visited the village and wanted to teach them a valuable lesson. He challenged the pigs to think about their choices and find a balance between spending, saving, and giving.

Wise Old OwlThe wise old owl said, "Penny, while it's fun to spend your money, it's important to save for the future and help others in need. Silver, it's great to have a nest egg, but sometimes it's okay to treat yourself and share with others. Goldie, your generosity is admirable, but don't forget to save for your own needs and enjoy life's little pleasures."

The three little pigs took the wise old owl's advice to heart. Penny started saving some of her money and giving to her favorite charities. Silver learned to enjoy the occasional treat and shared his wealth with the less fortunate. Goldie continued her generous ways but also started saving for her future and treating herself from time to time.

As they found the right balance, the three little piggy banks grew happier and more content. They learned that managing their money wisely meant spending, saving, and giving in harmony. Together, the three little pigs showed the whole village the joy and fulfillment that came from making smart choices with their hard-earned coins.

And so, the three little piggy banks lived happily ever after, knowing the true value of balance in their lives.
