How about some green felt by the yard. Buy enough to make a front and back of the tree and stick the sides together with stitch -witchery. Have a cut out for their face and add decorations. Maybe some brown pants or tights for the trunk and a star on the top. It is tough when you have such little notice from school and you don't sew or even worse you DO sew and have no time. Good luck
