Each week we have a special
"letter of the week".
During the week, we make crafts that feature the letter of the week and
practice the upper and lower cases of the letter.
WHAT WE DO - ACTIVITIES: During the week we're learning
about a particular letter (in this case the Letter M), we'll often do an
activity celebrating that letter.
For the letter M, why not focus on Magic. You can go see a
magician, watch one on tv, do some of your own magic tricks or have one
visit the class. You can teach the children some simple magic tricks
yourself (if you don't know any, visit Kidzone.ws
for some intructions. The best way to do this is to perform the
trick first and then show the kids how to do it. They'll have lots of
fun astounding their family and friends.
WHAT WE DO - CRAFTS: Make your own musical instrument.
For a few ideas for musical instrument crafts, visit our
Make a Joyful Noise crafts.
We made our own Musical Maracas from Mexico (say that 5 times fast!)
WHAT WE DO - FOOD: Make some muffins! They're pretty
nutritious, pack well in the lunchbox and are a good recipe for children to
help with (lots of stirring and it's so much fun to spoon the gooey mess
into the muffin tins). We like Blueberry muffins - click for the recipe
(they look like chocolate chip muffins but are healthier! Yes, I am a
tricky mom.). |
